London Alternative Market: The FETBOMB Guide to LAM

Part market, part social, part education — LAM has been a fixture of the UK kink community since 2006. Here's what a day at LAM actually looks like.

What Is London Alternative Market?

London Alternative Market — LAM — is a monthly daytime event for the kink and fetish community, running since 2006. Unlike a club night, LAM is built around shopping, socialising, and learning: expect two rooms of exhibitors selling fetish and alternative clothing and accessories, a large social area, and a workshop programme running through the afternoon.

LAM runs on the first Sunday of every month, with an optional afterparty for those who want to stay into the evening.

What to Expect

A typical LAM day includes over twenty exhibitors in the main room and a further dozen in the second room, a 1pm newbie orientation session for anyone new to the scene or the event, and workshops at 1pm, 2pm, and 4pm covering everything from rope to fetish fashion. The atmosphere is deliberately welcoming — LAM has clear, published policies on what to expect before you even arrive, which makes it one of the easiest entry points into the UK kink community for anyone attending their first event.

There's no strict dress code, though fetish and personal expression are encouraged — you don't need to invest in a full look to attend and enjoy the day.

Community and Inclusivity

LAM explicitly welcomes the full spectrum of the community — masters, mistresses, dominants, submissives, slaves, cross-dressers, ponies, puppies, and pets are all named as welcome in the event's own guidance, alongside anyone exploring their own kink identity for the first time.

Shopping at LAM

LAM's market format makes it a natural home for personalised jewellery and accessories — it's a browsing environment where people take their time, chat to makers, and find pieces that actually speak to their community rather than generic fetish merchandise.

Explore our collar collection and glass jewellery range for pieces suited to a market environment — easy to try on, easy to personalise on the spot conversation, built to last well beyond the day itself.

FETBOMB and LAM

If you're new to the scene, LAM's newbie-friendly structure makes it one of the best first events to attend — and a great place to find pieces that mark a first step into the community, not just a costume for the day.
